(1/2) Are you seeking god about the big things in life? (1/2)

I really loved Luke’s 12:00 service message so I’ll share it here 🙂

Are you seeking god about the big things in life?

(Proverbs 8:1-4 NLT)Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice! On the hilltop along the road, she takes her stand at the crossroads. By the gates at the entrance to the town, on the road leading in, she cries aloud, “I call to you, to all of you! I raise my voice to all people.

This is such a key scripture in our lives! We need wisdom in success- at the top. Not just at the bottom.

At crossroads of our lives we need God’s wisdom.

Near the gates, there were lots of business going on. We need wisdom for our business.

We definitely need wisdom in our relationships.

God is waiting there wanting to give you wisdom.

Don’t be passive. You have an active part to engage God on the big issues!

” If it’s gods plan it will happen” is a really passive attitude. It’s not faith.

If you want a new job- are you praying for it? Or just wishing?  If you really want the job, let’s actively ask God when it comes to mind.

So when should we pray more? Luke shared some points…

Big decisions time.

(Joshua 9:8-16 NLT) They replied, “We are your servants.” “But who are you?” Joshua demanded. “Where do you come from?” They answered, “Your servants have come from a very distant country. We have heard of the might of the LORD your God and of all he did in Egypt. We have also heard what he did to the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan River―King Sihon of Heshbon and King Og of Bashan (who lived in Ashtaroth). So our elders and all our people instructed us, ‘Take supplies for a long journey. Go meet with the people of Israel and tell them, “We are your servants; please make a treaty with us.”’
So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the LORD. Then Joshua made a peace treaty with them and guaranteed their safety, and the leaders of the community ratified their agreement with a binding oath. Three days after making the treaty, they learned that these people actually lived nearby!

They used the interlect to talk to people but didn’t ask God before they entered into a large argreement with people they never knew.

Don’t let outsiders into the inner parts until you have sought God about it! Pray.

Are you praying and actively seeking god about big picture things or are you being passive?

Times of trial or temptation.

Jesus’ model of prayer was simple, short and to the point. But then at key times Jesus prayed more.

The only time Jesus says pray for one hour is when he is about to die and he is praying through that.

It was on his mind for hours so he would have been praying for hours.

Times of trial and temptation don’t last forever. It’s for a season.

Pray that you don’t fall into temptation- focus on God not on your problem.

(Ephesians 3:13, 14 NLT) So please don’t lose heart because of my trials here. I am suffering for you, so you should feel honored. When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,

I want to share this with those who are facing challenges and those who are super worried about something.

Turn your thoughts, worries and concerns into prayer!!!

Worrying is such a waste of time!

Nothing gets solved by worrying, you will lose peace and your lives will be shortened!

So why don’t you instead of worrying and carrying all the weight your self, pray and give it to God! You’ll get your joy back too!

Are you just thinking about your challenges or are you praying about them?

To be continued…..
