敬老の日 Respect for the Aged Day!

Today is Respect for the Aged Day!

My grandparents live in Tokyo so I cant see them often but we saw them 3 weeks ago when we were in Tokyo 🙂

My grandfather is a qualified referee for gateball (bowling like sports) and he travels around the world. He is very energetic!

My grandmother is very generous. She always thinks about what she can give me.

She always gives me pocket money no matter how old I become.

She always asks me “Izumi, just take anything from our house. Do you need anything?”.

Even though I buy them things as a gift, she is always focused on giving to me rather than receiving.

Whenever I try to give back they say to me,

“We are just happy that you came to visit us. That is enough.”

Last time she gave pocket money to Luke too! She loves Luke just the way she loves me and I became a bit teary because I was so happy.

They always give me more than I can ever give back to them. They never expect anything from me. They just love the time that we spend together and the relationship that we have.

Through my grandparents, I can imagine what I mean to God.

主は高らかに歌ってあなたのことを喜ばれる *ゼパニヤ書 3:17*

I cant give back the same amount of love and blessings that God gives me. But God always loves me and He really enjoys the relationship with me. He is always thinking about blessing me.

The Lord your God is with you,
 the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.
(Zephaniah 3:17)

I am so blessed to experience true generosity through my grandparents and my parents. They are great role models of generosity.

So for this Respect for the aged day I want to thank my grandparents and God for blessing me through my grandparents.

いつもありがとう。 また東京に遊びにいくから、これからもずっと長生きしてね。大好きだよ!

To my favorite grandparents. Thank you always!! I will see you again in Tokyo so please stay heathy and live long. I love you!!!

And I will keep on praying that my grandparents will get saved one day.

God, thank you for my great family!
