Love series: Questions about COFFEE TIME!

I’ll continue posting about our LOVE SERIES we are currently sharing at Tuesday night church!

If you want to have a long lasting marriage

If you are wondering, “how would I know who should I choose for my future spouse?”

If you are wondering, “I’ve now become a Christian but what should I do in relationships area?”

You will get know the secrets to those questions throughout this series!

So in Lifehouse we have 6 degrees of relationships. (This is just a guideline not rule)

So let’s look at the 6 levels.

Friends
Special friends
Coffee time
Going steady
Engagement
Marriage

This has been recommended in Lifehouse for a while as a general guideline and so many couples including Luke and myself made are enjoying incredible marriage because we followed these guidelines.

This guideline is set to protect us. It’s not a rule. And it helps us build great foundation for a long lasting marriage.

Last week, Luke and I and other couples answered some questions that we got from people about coffee time!

If you are wondering what COFFEE TIME is please revise it from the previous post!

For my special blog readers I will post some of the Questions and Answers about COFFEE TIME!

Should coffee time be accompanied by an activity? Like sports (iceskating, billiards etc?) or game centre? If yes what activities should people avoid doing?

COFFEE TIME gives you the opportunity to find out about each other and see the side of that person that you don’t get to see in group situation. So if you just hang out to do sports together or go to game centre,  you will most likely see the same side of that person that you will see in group situation, so it’s quite important to sit down and talk! Especially for the first coffee time, please sit down and carry out a conversation.

If I’m the person who ask someone out for coffee time, can I ask the person if he/she is interested in me or can I feel it out
indirectly in coffee time? And is it ok for the person to reply honestly when he/she is asked?

Don’t ask!!! (lol)
By the fact that that person agreed to go to coffee time with you shows that that person has some kind of interest and if you get to go to another one after you both had fun, it means that that person had a good time. If you ask, you will look desperate and really insecure.  Also you will make the other person feel pressured so just relax and enjoy!

I can’t find the way and the time to talk and ask someone out for coffee time because so many people are around in church and it’s awkward if someone find out that. What can I do?

If the guy wants to ask a certain girl out and if she is always surrounded by other girls (like a barricade!) it could be intimidating to go by yourself to break that wall, so we recommend you to bring a group of guy friends and break the wall! (lol) Lifegroup leader will help you in these situations.

But the point is that men should step up and make an effort to talk to the girl!  And girls should be open so that he can easily talk to you.

What’s the clue or reasons when you realise ‘this person is maybe not the person for me’ even when you go out for coffee time with the person several times and you find out it’s fun.

COFFEE TIME is not an interview. It’s not a place to bring your list and start ticking off the boxes as you hear the other person speak.

If you were to find any thing that will make you feel “that person is not right for me” it could be based on big things like vision and their relationship with God. Don’t be picky on the small things.

I will post other questions tomorrow!!!!

If you are reading this blog,  why don’t you take a step forward and come to church ?

If you are feeling self-conscious about visiting church or thinking “I’m scared of religion” or “I’m not interested at all…” Please come at least once! Don’t reject without even having tried it. Just once for a start! If you want to know more about it please email to us. Looking forward to see you all !!

You don’t need entrance fee. We welcome anybody, and we’re very easy-going! you just bring yourself!
